FAQs

What is the weather like in Lake Tahoe in September?

September is a beautiful time in Lake Tahoe! We expect the weather to be in the low to mid 70s during the day and the 40s at night. Please bring layers!

Are the ceremony and reception in the same location?

Yes! The wedding ceremony and reception will be at Everline Resort. You may see the address listed as 400 Squaw Creek Rd, Olympic Valley, CA 96146 OR 400 Resort Road, Olympic Valley, CA 96146. They will both bring you to the same location.

When should I arrive at the ceremony?

Please arrive and be seated by 3:45pm.

Is the ceremony or reception outside?

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside on grass.  Ladies, please consider wearing block heels, wedges or flats. The reception will be tented on a turf surface, enclosed and heated if necessary.

Where should I park for the ceremony and reception?

For guests not staying at Everline Resort, please park in the self-parking area. Be sure to obtain a $10 parking validation from the front desk before departing.

Can we bring our kids?

We love your little ones, but only children age 5 and older can come to the wedding, those who are specifically named on the invitation.

If you need childcare during the weekend, we recommend Resort Sitters — a trusted local service in Tahoe: https://www.resortsitters.com/tahoe-babysitters/

Should I rent a car?

Yes, we highly recommend it! You will need a rental car to explore all that Lake Tahoe has to offer! For guests staying at Everline Resort, overnight self parking is $35/day. For guests staying at PlumpJack, self parking is complimentary.

What should I wear?

The dress code is black tie optional. For men, suits or tuxedos are both great options. For women, long dresses are encouraged. Please keep in mind that portions of the event will take place outdoors, so we recommend choosing attire and shoes that are both elegant and comfortable for an evening outside.

What is the difference between Palisades and Squaw Valley?

It's confusing! Palisades Tahoe is the new name of the ski mountain that used to be called Squaw Valley. The mountain and area are still often referred to as Squaw Valley, and some local spots still use the name Squaw. To make things even more confusing, the official name of the valley is "Olympic Valley" so you may see that on Google Maps. If you see Palisades, Squaw Valley, or Olympic Valley you're in roughly the right place!

Is Uber a good way to get around?

Uber is not as readily available as you might find in other cities. We would recommend a rental car for the weekend, and if you would like to arrange rides, we recommend making an advanced reservation. We recommend: Tahoe Elite, Tahoe Thunder Taxi, Tahoe Sierra Transportation.
